“When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen.” - Ernest Hemingway
While still in it’s infancy, I was part of the discovery phase of creating a hub for teachers, counselors, and students to all be able to use to track what credits and courses they needed to graduate from research and interviews to creating high fidelity mockups to test for the school year. The degree of complication was broken apart by creating a series of personas, followed by the Tetris screens. It aims to serve as an accountability measure as well as a maintenance of sanity.
The personas evolved from the discovery phase of the project. There was a teacher, a counselor, an admin, and a student. Each had particular roadblocks that I had to solve for. It started with flows and personas after doing a little field research.
Cisco is working to create a new experience for users who go to the support home page. I was involved in the stages of user experience discovery, design, and initial testing for the revamped part of the site. I worked within Cisco’s UX and CSS brand guideline. While there, I was able to work alongside other engineers, UX designers, and UI designers, and I gained knowledge of new techniques and perspectives. The page is being transitioned currently to a new user experience and interface.
I worked with Red Hat to create a Proof of Concept for an industry demo called “An end-to-end Open Source Architecture for the Internet of Things.” The focus of the industry demographic was for oil and gas. I designed and led the UX/UI for the initial stages of the project until it was then passed off to front end developers to implement using all types of new tools to accommodate the complexity of the demo.
For a traveling company application, my mood boards ranged from slight variations of the client’s colors and logo all the way to this, the bold and dark mode example of what the application could look like.
This is the mood board that did not deviate far from what the clients brought to Smashing Boxes. It served as an excellent dialogue toward what a photograph driven application could look like and how easy would it be to use.
This board is the happy medium between of colors as accents where needed. It also took the consideration of a photograph heavy app and I considered how could these two work best together.

20 coasters by Friday? Not a problem. I have a huge obsession with 3D printers and take every possible advantage to use it.
“I think everybody's got a presentation. Everybody looks a certain way because they want to convey a certain image. You look a certain way because you want people to listen to you in a certain way.” -Marilyn Manson
My MFA visual thesis that is an application for women in the design field to interact and become or find mentors. This is to bridge the stagnated gap between men and women in the field, even now in 2019.
